Merino ski socks are performance socks made from merino wool blended with technical fibres, designed to keep feet warm, dry and comfortable inside ski boots for a full day on the mountain. The trixski Merino Blend Ski Socks combine natural merino wool with polyamide for wicking and elastane for stretch, giving you warmth without bulk and a snug fit that won't slip inside your boot.
Made in Italy by a specialist sock manufacturer, they're unisex, come in one colourway (Royal Blue/Orange/Black) and are built specifically with skiing and snowboarding in mind — though they hold up just as well for winter walking or wearing in wellies.
Key features
- Why wear merino wool works for skiing: Merino is a fine, naturally soft wool that regulates temperature and manages moisture far better than cotton or standard synthetic socks. A few features explain why that matters on the slope
- Merino wool blend – naturally insulating, so it keeps feet warm in cold conditions without needing thick, bulky fabric.
- Polyamide for wicking – pulls sweat away from the skin, helping feet stay dry rather than damp and cold and naturally resists odour build-up.
- Elastane for fit – keeps the sock snug and in place inside a tight-fitting ski boot, reducing slipping or bunching.
- Reinforced shin (for cushioning), heel, sole, toe and ankle – extra durability exactly where ski boots create the most friction and pressure.
- Flat, low-bulk seams – reduce rubbing and hot spots on long days in stiff boot shells.
- Long length – sits higher on the leg to prevent gaps or rubbing against the top of the boot cuff.
- They're available in Small (UK 3–5.5), Medium (UK 6–8.5) and Large (UK 9–11) and also feature in trixski's Skier Starter Pack bundle.
FAQs
Why wear merino wool socks for skiing instead of cotton?
Cotton holds moisture against the skin, which makes feet cold and increases blister risk. Merino wicks sweat away and keeps insulating even when damp, so feet stay warmer and drier for longer.
Are these socks too thick for ski boots?
No — they're designed to give warmth without bulk, so they fit comfortably inside a well-fitted ski boot without crowding your toes or restricting circulation.
Do merino ski socks smell after a day of skiing?
Merino is naturally odour-resistant, so these socks stay fresher for longer than synthetic alternatives, even after a full day in ski boots.
Can I wear one pair or do I need two?
One well-fitting pair of merino ski socks is usually best — layering socks can restrict circulation and make feet colder, not warmer.
How do I wash them?
Machine wash at 40°C. Do not bleach, iron, tumble dry or dry clean, to protect the wool fibres and keep their shape.
Do they only work for skiing?
No — they're also well suited to winter walking, hiking or wearing with wellies, thanks to the same warmth and moisture-wicking properties.
Our merino blend ski socks also comprise part of our Skier Starter Pack bundle. See details on our webpage via the link.

GLOWING REVIEWS
I bought this for myself, having previously purchased one for my wife, which she found really helpful when carrying her skis. So, suitably impressed, I got one for myself. I am sure next season it will be really useful making it much easier carrying skis and poles. It also makes leaving your skis and poles in a ski room easier when getting out in the morning.

I needed some of Trixski’s items at short notice and asked if they could arrange express delivery. They went out of their way to accommodate this request and followed up with a call and e-mail. I bought a ski carrier, boot clip opener and a mobile phone attachment. All of them have been brilliant. I have just been skiing and received many compliments about these handy and well thought out gadgets.

Trixski is one of the best products for the ski world ever invented. Thanks to Tricia and the team for creating this brilliant product! I am using the ski carrier for my filming work for SKI TV in Switzerland and I always get jealous looks from other skiers when the see how easy it is to carry my skis.
