Paralympian Anna Turney meets trixski

I had the pleasure to meet Paralympian alpine skier Anna Turney today at the Women in Business Network summer lunch in Stevenage, where Anna was doing the keynote presentation. Anna had the audience captivated and, at times, very emotional as she recounted her story from highly successful competitive snow boarder to having her hopes dashed following a serious accident.  However, whilst spending several months in hospital, support and unexpected inspiration from a photograph of a seated skier drove Anna to return to not just competing again but taking part in the Sochi Paralympics in 2014.

Her amazing story of how she achieved this comeback to snowsports and competing at a high level told us of her motivation, focus, goals and how important her support team were to her recovery and a new and different life.  Anna is now retired from competing but is a mentor for the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust in Birmingham, working with young people from difficult backgrounds.

We hope to explore ways that trixski can support the work she is doing with the Trust.

Anna took away some trixski products which will assist in the transportation of the family's skis on their next skiing holiday.
